They say love only comes once in a lifetime, Paul McCartney once said "love doesn't come in a minute, sometimes it doesn't come at all". Love has so many different meanings, no one knows what love truely means. Some people say this, some people think otherwise, but as for me, there are only two kinds of love. First Love and True Love.
High school love life or in other words, first love is an unforgettable experience that is both unique and destructive. Usually, this experience will be remembered through out the rest of your life and the memories that are left with you, can contribute to the person you are today. It is like no other feeling, you experience everything for the first time; first kiss, first date and the like. Having a love life in high school can also motivates you to do better in school because it serves as an inspiration. High school love life isn't always about good things, many bad things can happen as well. Instead of inspiration, you tend to lose focus on your priorities like school, studies and many more, grades go down and eventually fail. After all of this love and effort, when the love ends, some take drugs, run away from home, some even commit suicide and can even change your life for the worse.
Alof of people would say that high school love life is the same with true love and other people would disagree but what exactly is the difference and similarities of the two? Many would say that high school love doesn't last "forever" and that this kind of love is only infatuation. This is because at high school and at a young age, we are too young to undestand what love is all about. On the other hand, others would say that true love is different from first love because it last forever. You and only yourself would know if it really is true because you can only experience this kind of love when you are old enough to understand it. High school love life and true love can have its similarities as well. When you experience them, both have this feeling of completeness and hapiness. It is an amazing feeling, a feeling that can never be fully explained through words.
Falling in love for the first time happens mostly during high school. This is the time when the person starts to act more mature and goes through puberty or the adolescent stage, this is the stage when your mind starts to develop. At the same time, the person meets a lot of new friends because of events like parties and ‘gimmicks’ with friends that they go to. As they build relationships with other people, there will always be that one special person that will catch their eye and stand out which may develop into intimacy. Basically, falling in love makes you more mature that is why I am for relationships at a young age.
Although some people with disagree and wouldn’t support relationships at a young age because they believe that falling in love should start at a much later and more mature age. They say that since you are more mature and older, it’ll be much easier for you to understand what love is about. Another reason would be that, since you are older and more experienced, you are mentally prepared for a relationship or in short, ready to be in one. With more experience and maturity, there will be a bigger chance in having a long and successful relationship.
As for why I’m for relationships at a young age? Since high school is usually the adolescent stage, this is the best time for one to discover more about themselves as they grow up. It may not be an easy task because it’ll take time but at this stage in their lives, they are already learning how to deal with problems, problems that aren’t even supposed to happen at that age. As soon as they learn mature things at a young age, the more mentally prepared they are and they would know how to handle challenges in a more mature way of manner.
Having a more mature mindset at an earlier stage can be an advantage to you because it’ll set you apart from the others since you’ve gone through something life changing, as I said, first love or any form of love is life changing. Being the more mature one, they could also set an example because having gone through with it already, they know what and what not to do during a relationship, this can be helpful because most relationships fall apart during high school.
Some people may agree with me, most people won’t but in my opinion, I really think that having a relationship at a young age will be helpful in the end, maybe the reason that most people won’t agree with me is that they can’t see the good side towards this. Yeah, there the bad sides to this but I believe that this will be for the better. Nevertheless, everyone has their own opinion, there is no right and wrong.
Through writing my essays, i was able to accomplish the goals i have set through out my year. I was able to learn more and improved on areas that i had diffuclty like writing essays. i always had difficulty gathering my ideas and thoughts. This course has helped me alot through these difficulties and i wouldn't have been able to finish my essays if it weren't for thid ENGLCOM course. Many thanks to our professor, Dr. Ariane Borlongan for helping achieve our goals for this term, thank you.
